Youth Service Project
The Youth Service Project helps children with homework assistance, recreation,
arts, crafts, cultural tours, games, rap sessions, etc. The main concern
is to help children do well in school and feel good about themselves.
The Summer School Day Camp is
fun time. This six week program features swimming, tours, games, train
rides, and more.
The Charmett's Girls'Club
Little girls between the ages of 7 and 12 are introduced to the basic
rules of etiquette, sewing, cooking, and the finer arts expressed through
workshops, field trips, in-service training, etc.
Drill Team
This program for girls ages 8 to 17 is designed to enhance physical, emotional,
and social development. Girls are drilled in procedures as well as in
developing leadership skills.
POR Advocacy Recreation
This program is designed to aide in the reduction of juvenile delinquency
and the prevention of truancy through supportive services, sports, movies,
and recreation.
Grow Up/Not Out: T.R.A.P.
Teen Pregnancy Prevention
This program is presented in the form of a support group that teaches
sexual safety, sexual awareness, and about knowing the facts before its
too late. Methods of prevention are taught through literature, workshops,
field trips, etc.
H.I.V. P.O.S.S.E. (Preventive
Options though Safer Sex Education)
A group of peer educators give their time and commitment on a voluntary
basis in order to educate their peers. These volunteers are trained and
certified to present accurate HIV (the virus that causes AIDS and AID
(the result of HIV) information to schools, churches, organizations, and
the community at large
